Last Wednesday, Essex Foodies were fortunate enough to attend Shake Shack UK’s official housewarming party at Intu Lakeside, & what a fun evening it was! Shake Shack laid on a huge party, including entertainment from a DJ & live band that could be heard from all floors & of course, food, & plenty of it.

Upon arrival, we were given a wristband giving us access to the invite-only event, we then hit what I would say was the most packed fast food restaurant I’ve ever seen (& I’ve seen plenty after a night out, this was another level!) Free flowing wine was offered once we had entered the restaurant, neatly poured into stemless Shake Shack printed wine glasses, completely with thumb indentation – perfect for holding, absolutely loved this idea.

Members of the Shake Shack team floated on the restaurant floor, armed with platters of hotdogs, burgers & fries so nobody was going hungry! Batches of freshly made burgers poured from the kitchen, leaving us absolutely spoilt for choice, but between two of us we devoured burgers including ShackBurger, SmokeShack (my favourite), Chick’nShack as well as the regular & cheese fries. Everything was absolutely delicious & brimming with flavour! It was a shame that we couldn’t eat any more, as it was just sooo good!

Beween the two of us, we also got through a few glasses of wine (it would’ve been rude not to), as well as milkshakes & the house lemonade. Again, all were lovely. I especially loved the milkshake I had – I opted for the coffee flavour – lush!

I think it’s safe to say that everyone at the opening had a fabulous time, so well done to all at Shake Shack for laying on such a fantastic event! We most certainly look forward to dropping by when we’re next at Lakeside!
