Back in November, on a Saturday evening my dad & I had the pleasure of visiting this lovely little restaurant set just next door to Euston Square Station. What a gem!! So grateful that we were invited along!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Margaux who was absolutely lovely – really friendly and chatty! She sat us down and introduced us to our waitress for the evening, Csilia. We ordered our drinks – we went for the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc which was lovely, the wine was really soft and fruity and did not leave a bitter after taste which some wine can. For our starters, we enjoyed the Mergeuz sausages and the breaded butterfly king prawns (from the small plates menu.) Both dishes were lovely, and for someone that doesn’t like lamb, I really enjoyed these lamb sausages! I would definitely recommend trying these. On to our mains, my Dad enjoyed the ribeye steak which was served with fries, a grilled tomato and mushroom and peppercorn sauce, and I enjoyed the smoked haddock and salmon fishcakes with a side of garden peas, shallots and bacon lardons. Again, both of the dishes were absolutely beautiful, the steak was lovely and tender and cooked to perfection and the fishcakes were really substantial – they contained a good amount of fish in them and they weren’t too light – the sauce that they were served with was also a massive hit! We also enjoyed the truffled potato crisps served with a blue cheese dip, and I would say that a personal highlight for me was the blue cheese dip, it was lovely and rich! I also really enjoyed this side as it’s something that you wouldn’t normally see in a restaurant.

On to the best bit.. desserts! We indulged in the eton mess and sticky toffee pudding. Once again, everything here was absolutely delightful and plentiful with not a bad word to say! Following from desserts, we enjoyed a coffee each which were beautiful. Really strong with rich aromas.

All in all, VQ is definitely a place to check out whether you are close by or whether it means a trip! We were totally blown away with the service we received and cannot thank the staff there enough for all that they did for us. Staff were ever so attentive but not in a way that it was intrusive. We would definitely return here again, and we definitely look forward to checking out the other branches around London! In all honesty, we were so pleasantly surprised – with the restaurant being open until 2am, we did not expect a lot, however our visit proved us totally wrong.

Thank you so, so much VQ for inviting us and taking care of us, we really appreciate it and we had such a lovely evening! We would especially like to mention both Margaux and Csilia for their hospitality, as well as the chefs who prepared and cooked our meals.

Thank you once again @vqrestaurants for having us.
